JOVANJE MONASTERY

Dedicated to the birth of St. John the Baptist. Situated on the left bank of the Zapadna Morava. Mentioned first in 1536. The old monastery was pulled down in 1954 and moved to its present location. Not only is its paramount importance, but also it is the hospitality of its nuns that attracts many believers all the year round. Patron St. Day is Ivanjdan (St. John's Day) on 7th July.
