The Ovcar-Kablar gorge – the pearl of nature, so rich in unique creations of diligent builders... And the most valuable and breathtakingly beautiful and memorable ever has been created by the nature itself: plentiful and picturesque flora and fauna, the springs of warm and thermal water, those of clean drinking water, which are, like jewels scattered over the verdure of the landscape, then, the rapid and clear mountain brooks, centuries-old forests, sunny glades and fresh mountain air, steep cliffs and mildly wavy slopes and pastures, too

The Ovcar-Kablar gorge is known as the SERBIAN HOLY MOUNTAIN OF ATHOS thanks to numerous monasteries situated in this area. As the permanent monuments of the Serbian architecture, spirituality and culture, surrounded by peace, the verdure of tame forests, sunny slopes, the monastieres of Vavedenje, Nikolje, Jovanje, Preobrazenje, Sretenje, Svete Trojice, Blagovestenje, Uspenije, Vaznesenje and Ilinje have existed in this gorge for centures. The original monasteries, two more sanctuaries – the church of St. Sava and the chruch – the cave Kadjenica, as a sacral memorial object of its kind, are also situated in this region.

The followers of spirituality, religious people, the admirers of history, tradition and culture can encounter various church relics, valuable icons, old records and rare manuscript books, which will make it possible for them to become familiar with the ancient roots of the Serbian people and thus leave the monasteries spiritually, much richer.
